What's new this week? Not too much I'm afraid... I have a couple of designs at the work in progress stage but despite having the intention to have them ready to share by now, that just hasn't happened. I'm behind schedule and I wasn't thrilled about it, but today I learned something that cast a new light on things. If you've been reading these blogs you might be aware that I've been getting a lot of really helpful business support at my local library, and this morning I went to another session there: this one was on the subject of S.A.D - Seasonal Affected Disorder - also known as the Winter Blues. The one where we don't get enough sunlight and it all goes wrong... As ever, a huge take away from this morning was that I'm not the only one - the struggle is real and completely normal. I hadn't realised that some of the symptoms I've experienced recently come down to that, and it's good to know that - now that I'm better informed I'll be able to take preventative action in the winters of the future, and I'll also be more conscious of a few things I can do now to help over the next few weeks, until we start seeing signs of spring. Simple things like deep breathing outdoors, working in public places occasionally and with friends where possible, and also bigger things like accessing the support programme which I didn't know until today is available. Great stuff, very useful to know, and hopefully stuff that'll make a real difference.
I'll be back with those new designs next week - keep an eye on the website over the next couple of days because all being well I'll be able to get at least one of them out there for you. Take care and don't let winter get on top of you, feel free to get in touch if you'd like more information about the support I learned about today.
