More mugs! It's that time of year again here in the UK when we start thinking about curling up on the sofa with a hot drink, and so it feels appropriate to build up more of a selection of drinkware now. I've got more designs coming, I'm playing around with some watercolour and ink at the moment to add something with a bit of colour, so do keep an eye out for those, they're coming up in the very near future. We're global of course and I haven't forgotten those of you who are in sunnier places - far from it, I dream of being out there in the sun with you - I've included insulated water bottles in the drinkware range so if it's too hot for a hot drink we've still got you covered. Lucky you, it's hardly stopped raining all year here and everyone's pretty fed up about it, so if you're seeing some sunshine bear us in mind...
It's been another slow week really so not a huge amount to report. I'm struggling with a bit of insomnia so that tends to make the days pass by in a bit of a blur, but I'm working on it - my doctor tells me there are plenty of different options for treatments so I'm looking ahead to a time when I might be awake and productive again, and I hope that's not too far away! Does it affect any of you? I always used to sleep like a baby - I've slept through roadworks outside my window, hurricanes, you name it... But now after a bit of stress in recent years I'm not settling at night. Apparently when you don't sleep for a while you can lose the habit - oh dear! Well these things are tests I suppose and I know I'll come through it, it just might take me a bit of time to get a bigger range of products onto the website than I would have hoped. It's all to come though, bear with me!
It's been art as play recently for exactly that reason. I had to change things a bit because I was starting to lose motivation, not because I don't want to build the website up, but because I've been so tired that everything felt like an uphill struggle. It's been healthy to take the pressure off myself and just paint and draw for the pleasure of it. When you're not worrying about outcomes any more it's such a great way to escape your troubles, and just be in the moment. It's pure escapism and I think I need to make a point of doing it regularly - it's highly recommended as a way to unwind. When you're doing it you can get so lost in it that nothing else exists, and I can't think of anything else I've done that gives you the same feeling...
I'll leave it there for now, but as ever I love to hear what you think and what you'd like to see from Carissima Studio (me) so do get in touch. Have a great week.
