Well it's been a bit of a ride... Setting up a website isn't the easiest thing in the world, especially when you aren't very tech minded, but I'm on a roll now and starting to enjoy the process a bit more. Now I've got past that stage I'll be keeping in touch regularly with my Wednesday Words - a chance to share what's been going on here at Carissima Studio and what's coming up.
It's been a big focus on clothing lately, with some new designs recently published on t-shirts, tank tops, and because we haven't had much of a summer this year in the UK I've also added in some long sleeved tops. There are couple more new designs in the pipeline, and once they're done I'll put more time into creating some wall art. There's just not enough time in the day!
The picture is one of my t-shirts - a simple quote from Rumi, who wrote those words as far back as the 13th century. It saddens me that it still needs to be said - when I made the t-shirt I didn't know what was to come, but the wave of hate fuelled violence that has swept through the UK in recent days can't be ignored. I stand against the violence and the disgusting ideologies behind it. I hope that we are able to contain it quickly and return to normal: I want all our communities to feel safe and valued, and I dearly hope that we can return to the important values of love, kindness and mutual respect that knit our country together. We are one.
